THE PROJECT: Phase 2 of the refurbishment of this existing church, including a new extension to the front façade to create a welcoming and accessible Church.
OUR BRIEF: To provide a welcoming main entrance to the Church, that would allow the building to be accessible to all, and refurbishment of the basement areas to provide social spaces and ancillary accommodation within the limitations of the existing structure.
THE RESULT: Headed by directors Roger Fleming (architects) and Colin Dair (quantity surveyors), CRGP Limited provided both architectural and quantity surveying services for this project. Planning of the internal space was very restricted by the existing structure, however, we have managed to create a welcoming and modern entrance area whilst also providing flexible social accommodation at basement level to meet the Client’s brief.
Creation of a level entrance off the street, and provision of a platform lift has made the building accessible to disabled members of the congregation and the public.
