Project SLAM, Tankadrome JRSLA, Catterick
Tankadrome Junior Ranks Single Living Accommodation is a £23M development of 8 separate accommodation blocks arranged around an extensively landscaped courtyard. Designed in the Catterick Garrison style, the diversity of forms, levels and materials provide visual interest, encouraging a sense of place.
Comprising 540 Z-type rooms (single bedroom with en suite bathroom), the buildings were designed with Modern Methods of Construction to the fore. One of the many innovations of this project was the development of the 5-storey self-supporting modular accommodation block, a first for Project SLAM.
