Project SLAM, Marne Barracks, Catterick
New accommodation building completes upgrade of SLA within the barracks.
Having previously completed 672 Junior Ranks bed spaces within the barracks, CRGP have now completed the new modular build accommodation block which will house 83 SNCO's.
The building lies in a central mature location within the barracks adjacent to the Sergeants Mess. The challenges set by the base where to maintain the mature setting while also maintaining the linear links within the barracks and the links between the existing historical buildings.
The building is a bespoke modular design with self supporting glazed entrance lobbies, which were designed to achieve the most stringent counter terrorist measures.
The project was completed in mid 2009 at an approximate cost of £6million.
