SNCO Modular Accommodation, Marne Barracks
The new SNCO building completes the Project SLAM upgrade of accommodation within Marne Barracks. Having previously constructed over 600 Junior Ranks bed spaces within the barracks, CRGP have now completed a further modular accommodation block which will house 80 SNCO's. The building lies in a central location within the barracks adjacent to the Sergeants Mess. The challenges set by the base where to preserve the mature setting while also maintaining the linear links within the barracks and taking into account the surrounding historical buildings. The project is a bespoke modular design with self supporting glazed entrance lobbies, which were designed to achieve the most stringent counter terrorist measures.
