Bob is CRGP's Latest Signing
22 June 2006
Bob O’Donnell has recently joined CRGP’s growing project management team. He was formerly a director in OPMMS Ltd, a family company specialising in project and development management. In his 10 years’ experience, he has been involved in a wide variety of projects including pubs, clubs, hotels, retail, residential, industrial and commercial. Now, after one month of being among new and fresh faces, he is settling into the job and loving every minute.
“I thoroughly enjoy being here at CRGP Ltd. It is stimulating and exciting to be among vibrant and energetic people who are keenly focused on doing a good job and working as a team,” he said. “I feel that I am in a company that is going places and there is a dynamism here that I just did not previously experience. Before I joined the company, I was aware that its place in the industry was becoming more prominent and that it was gaining much recognition and respect.”
Since his arrival, Bob has been working on the Carfin project, which is a regeneration development of a Brownfield site. Currently the job is at the pre-construction stage and he is currently involved in the ground consolidation works in order to mitigate any future problems. When construction is completed it will contain several retail units one of which will be operated by a leading food retail chain. The remainder of the development is earmarked for a police station, nursery, and a substantial residential development of detached and semi-detached housing. The developer is also considering a general practice clinic and an office block in the near future.
“One of the great things about CRGP is that it is a multi-discipline firm and I will be able to pull from a vast knowledge base of architects, building surveyors and quantity surveyors. The synergy is tremendous and there’s hardly a day goes past without me gaining greater understanding about certain specialist areas that can only help me as a project manager,” he said.
His task of co-ordinating project teams, understanding the risks involved and ensuring the job goes through smoothly will clearly be helped by such a strong support force.
When Bob is away from the office his recreational activities include five-a-side football, going to the gym and on the odd occasion he can be seen on the slopes above Chamonix or in the Cairngorms on his snowboard. All news stories
