The Clyde Gateway

CRGP’s Building Surveyors were appointed to carry out condition surveys to 45 properties, including a mix of industrial, commercial and residential properties, prior to works commencing on the construction of a new road linking the M74 extension to the M8/M80 through Glasgow’s East End.

Upon completion of the new roadway CRGP’s Building Surveyors have returned to each property to record their condition and compare that to notes taken pre-construction. With reports on any apparent damage or deterioration being issued to the Client, Farrans and I&H Brown.

The new £25m, 4-lane road, constructed by Farrans and I&H Brown was formally opened on 27th April 2012. Named The Clyde Gateway, partly in recognition of work of the urban regeneration company that covers a large part of the East End the new road will unlock development sites, improve transport links and help create jobs, particularly in the Shawfield and Dalmarnock communities.

The new arterial route is also considered a vital piece of infrastructure needed to support a successful Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games as it will provide easy access to Celtic Park, where the opening ceremony will be held, Commonwealth Arena, Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and Athletes’ Village.
