Officers Mess and Accommodation, Junior Ranks CRL Facility, RAF Lossiemouth
The unique requirement to combine Junior Ranks and Senior Ranks Messing facilities and SLA has proved challenging for all to establish. The resulting building utilises a central kitchen to support both messes which otherwise remain autonomous. Flexibility has been designed into the plans to ensure future changes in policy or even one off events can be catered for. The organisation of the plan enables autonomy to be maintained with the SNCO Mess enjoying privacy and southern aspects across the sports fields while the Junior Ranks Mess benefits from direct access to the associated SLA with an adjoining retail outlet to maximise the footfall. The SNCO accommodation is located above the SNCO Mess, the accommodation will utilise the offsite production of volumetric bedspaces to reduce the on site programme. The project is currently on site and due for completion mid 2012.
