Designed by CRGP Ltd Architects, the new two storey building completes the Riverside Business Park Development which is managed by Riverside Inverclyde.
The Client set a challenging programme for delivery of the project with a number of key milestones that had to be met. Concept design commenced in January 2012 with tenders issued based on a scheme design at the beginning of February 2012. Work commenced on site in June 2012 with the building handed over to the Client at the beginning of May 2013.
The building has been designed to respect the phase 1 building fabric, borrowing the material palette of Stone, Terracotta and Zinc, whilst offering a different aesthetic with large areas of full height glazing to the 1st floor and an overhanging eaves to provide some shelter to the fabric. The layout and position of the building on the site reflect the site context, with the West corner of the building addressing the railway embankment and providing a full stop to the development of the business park with a 3 sided glazed aspect.
